The world has adapted quickly to social distancing.

You may have to stay home in your apartment for now, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy many of your favourite activities! Here are five unique and fun ways to stay occupied in your apartment.

Go to the theatre

The show must go on, and it has! If you love going to the movie theatre, there is no shortage of ways to stream movies online with services like Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+. If live entertainment is your thing, there are options for you, too. Check out live performances from New York, London, or even right here in Toronto.

Tour a museum

With the Google Arts & Culture app on your phone, you'll be able to tour around some of the world's most famous museums and art galleries. Take advantage of your extra free time by learning more about your favourite places, historical periods and artists.

Take a course

Become a digital marketing specialist, a business writer, a graphic designer or even an expert in Excel by taking an online course. Plenty of quick online tutorials are available to help you brush up on old skills or learn interesting new ones. Also, more formal options are available online through a variety of colleges, such as Shaw Academy and Centennial College. Whether you're learning a new hobby or opening yourself up to new career options, there's a course out there for you!

Do a puzzle

Clear off the dining room table, or browse any of the websites that offer free jigsaw puzzles you can do online. For something more strategic, try classic puzzle games like Sodoku online. Puzzles are a great way to stay occupied and keep your mind sharp.

Have a dance party

What better time to dance like no one is watching? Whether you're social distancing with family or roommates, or whether you're dancing solo, many DJs are offering free live sets to keep you moving. Follow your favourite DJs on their social media pages and join them for free dance parties, right in your apartment!
